Derawar Destroys the Opposition
The highlight of the day was Derawar's bloodless victory in the Ladies Open Race, always up with the pace throughout Lucy Barry strolled to the front to land an easy victory. Other noticeable performances on the day was a treble for jockey Mark Wall and good performances from both Mocho in the Open Maiden race for 5 year olds and upwards and Virginia Preuil in the concluding Confined race. Moscow Mule was unfortunately but correctly disqualified from winning the Confined Maiden race for weighing in 3lb light which is over the allocated regulation limit. Not a great deal of runners were seen on the day but the racing was pretty competitive all the same.Below : Pongo's Nephew and Kevin Merry hold off the substained challenge of High Rank to land the opening Hunt Members Race.
